Renesas Electronics launches a new car actuator and sensor control MCU
On December 18, Renesas Electronics Group recently announced the launch of two new microcontrollers (MCUs) – RL78/F24 and RL78/F23, which are designed for automotive actuators and sensor control applications, and support the evolving edge applications in the next-generation electronic and electrical (E/E) architecture. Relying on the new RL78/F24 and RL78/F23, Reza has expanded the RL78 low-power 16-bit MCU product family, strengthened Reza’s extensive automotive electronics camp, and provided customers with high reliability and high-performance solutions from actuators to regional control.
With the expansion of the electronic and electrical architecture to regional and regional control applications, the control mechanism is also developing to adapt to the body control functions of the vehicle system, such as lighting, window and rearview mirror, motor control of engine pump and fan, and multi-sensor control. Looking forward to the future, the high-speed and safe connection of the area and domain controller will be the key task of the edge electronic control unit (ECU). Reza’s next generation RL78/F24 and RL78/F23 MCU meet the changing technical requirements of actuator and sensor control with rich connectivity, enhanced network security and functional security performance. The new product supports the CAN FD high-speed communication protocol (RL78/F24) and the EVITA-Light safety standard, and is optimized for systems that need to meet the requirements of ASIL-B level of ISO 26262 functional safety standard.
